The past year, 107 individuals achieved their goal of improving their standard of living, through the services and supports provided by Primrose Center's supported employment program.
Primrose's Supported Employment Program helps job seekers with intellectual and developmental disabilities find work. The individuals served are paired with a Job Coach who assists them in finding a job and provides on-the-job training once the person is hired.
Each person's needs are accessed and the level of support will vary with each person. The Job Coach remains with the person at the job site working one-on-one with him/her until: the individual develops the skills required to perform the job independently, is comfortable with his/her position, and the employer is satisfied with performance levels. Once the Job Coach is no longer needed, a follow-along Coach is assigned to provide the supports needed to maintain employment, if required.
Our Job Coaches encourage support from the person’s natural environment and provide assistance in a number of areas. Job Coaches have direct service roles providing:
